on Shillam rollers using the freshest eggs possible from our local egg farm. We supply baits in 14, 16, 18, 20 and 25mm. 12mm is available from November to feburary. Choose a bait from below,
fish well and apply the bait correctly
and your catch rates can only improve.
Red Baron.
5 star gourmet eating for carp! First formulated in 1992 Red Baron catches
as many carp today as it did back then. Excellent in a vast range of waters,
small lakes, large gravel pits, low
stocked waters, French reservoirs
and holiday venues, it just works
anywhere from its first introduction.
Red Baron is a blend of milk products, fishmeals, birdfoods, liquid foods,
vitamins and minerals and oils.
It contains genuine Haiths Robin Red
not beetroot colouring or red dye!!
If you are looking for a bait to use and cannot make your mind up then this is
the one. Get on the Baron and haul away! Contains rennet casein, lactalbumin, sardine and anchovy meal, cod meal,
pre digested fishmeal, Haiths robin red, maize protein, calf gold, yellow birdseed, blood cells, salmon oil, lo30 liquid, and squid and plum flavour. Other flavour combos to consider are frankfurter,
spicey frankfurter, bacon grill and crab, salmon, or any of your favourites!
Virgin Secret.
Our latest bait and the natural follow on from Red Baron. We have found over the years that a few natural products used at high levels can prove to be devastating. We have included them in this bait.
Testing was carried out in 2007-8 to get these levels correct. When we achieved this, and applied the bait in generous amounts the carp were always on the lookout for the bait. Pre-baiting carried
out the day prior to fishing almost guaraunteed results.
The flavour used in this bait is exclusive
to us and is extremely effective.
It is an old stager but is mixed to our requirements. If you are a serious angler and want the best from your fishing then use this bait and you will not be disappointed. Contains rennet casein, lactalbumin, sardine and anchovy meal, salmon meal, herring meal, pre digested fishmeal, Haiths robin red, calf gold,
yellow birdfood, glm, squid powder,
liver powder, lo30, salmon oil, vitamins and minerals and our very exclusive peach and black pepper oil flavour.
Multimeat.
A lovely combination of various meat products, spices, fishmeals, milk proteins and birdfoods. Multimeat is different
from the normal run of the mill fishmeals. It has a lovely spicey sausage aroma
which the carp love and works brilliantly when applied in large amounts. It also is
an excellent barbel and chub bait. Barbel to 18lb+ and chub to 7lb+ have been caught on multimeat. A little trick for barbel and chub is to use a 14mm boilie with a wrap of paste around it.
This allows a quicker release of attractors in flowing water. Contains, rennet casein, lactalbumin, sardine and anchovy meal,
pre digested fishmeal, calf gold, maize protein, yellow birdfood, blood cells, liver powder, spicey beef powder, yeasts, spices, vitamins and minerals, salmon oil and frankfurter.
Nut Mix
We all know how carp love tiger nuts and peanuts but seeing how they are banned on various waters in 2004 we decided to incorporate them into a boilie. The carp absolutely love them especially in the depths of winter or high summer when they fancy a change from the fishmeals. Purposley made to break down slowly on the lake bed slowly releasing the
attractors then leaving a nice pile of crushed tigers and ground peanuts.
A good tip here is to crush a dozen boilies in a Korda Krusha and make a stik out of them. Awesome attraction in your swim! Contains, ground tiger nuts, roasted crushed peanuts, calf gold, maize protein, yellow birdfood, rennet casein, lactalbumin, tiger nut liquid, hemp oil, maple or creamy condensed milk flavours.
BAG AND STIK MIXES
These two excellent bag/stik mixes are
all that you will require to dramatically increase the natural attraction around
your hookbait. We supply two different mixes, fishy and nutty. The Fishy one is perfect to use in combination with our
Red Baron, Virgin Secret and Multimeat, and the nutty one obviously with our Nut Mix. The Fishy mix contains crushed
hemp, pre digested fishmeal, fishmeals, crushed birdfoods, marine extracts,
meat products and calf gold. The Nutty Mix contains ground tiger nuts, crushed peanuts, birdfoods, calf gold and cereal products.
The use of these mixes ensures that your hookbait is placed bang in the middle of a very attractive parcel of food. It is a great trick to use if the carp in your water are spooky of big beds of bait. For best
results always add the powder to the active liquid and mix until the correct consistency is achieved. This is a brilliant method to use in winter and early spring.

NEWS AUG 2009
Good news!, Jez King bags the great Black Common from Bundys Pit Cambs, at a staggering 43lb 9oz, the capture of this elusive carp was on our fantastic Virgin Secret Peach and Pepper freezer baits with a few extra bits and pieces. An amaizing result following a long baiting campaign on this pressured venue. This is the second capture of this fish on our baits. Congratulations to Jez.
Testing on our new bait is progressing well with 3 35+ commons reported in the last month. Plenty of other fish coming to our testers as well. Testing will continue and we will post further progress reports here.
Work is progressing on our new bait. Keep an eye on here for updates.
Soon available will be cork GRANULE (not dust) pop ups to replicate our freezer baits. These will be able to be pierced for short overnight sessions but we still advise flossing them on to prevent water ingress.
Thanks to everyone for their orders.
If you are browsing our new site looking
for a great bait consider our Red Baron Squid and Plum, or even the famous
Virgin Secret Peach and Pepper. They are great carp catchers and really kick off as more gets introduced. Also try using a stik or PVA bag of our fishy mix groundbait mixed with a dedicated liquid. This gives you great attraction around your hookbait with little food.
Mark's top tips
If your on the fish, dont be afraid to go in heavy, it's almost impossible to overfeed.
With baits such as the virgin secret and red barron they seem to like the quantity with the quality,
Keep to the same spot's and top up when you have a fish.
If your pre- baiting both of these baits have a proven track record in holding fish and keeping them wanting for more!
Use a chod or withy rig with an 18mm pop up, these are excellent rigs,
Tight lines everyone.

I have been using custom baits from the start, i know that confidence plays a big part in the carp i fish for, and how i fish
for them, custom has given me that edge on other anglers that i truly believe no other bait company could!
Knowing that the quality is at the forefront of every bait that is delivered to my door, it gives me one less thing to worry
about when i'm on the bank, i can simply concentrate on catching. And trust me"it catches" Take the worry out of your bait
and get on the custom gear you will be asking yourself why you didnt do it sooner!

I started using Custom Baits excellent products in 2005. Since then my catch rate has dramatically improved both in fish size
and quantity. My UK and French personal bests have both been caught on Custom Baits freezer baits,33lb in the UK
and 45lb in France. I am very impressed with the bait, price and service. Oh and Mark is always on hand to give out tips
on his baits and any general carping stuff. TOP BAIT AND A TOP GEEZER!!!
Geoff Twining
Mark showed me a sample of his bait (the mighty Red Baron) and I was immediately impressed with it, and especially with
him and his knowledge, enthusiasm and friendliness. I decided straight away to use his bait and, on the first outing with it,
caught 12 carp in a weekend ( only managing 5 all the previous season!). I can honestly say that Mark's products are top
quality and reliable and if you want anything special or slight changes he is only too willing and able to supply your every
needs.
POP UPS
A word on pop ups. We supply two types, air ball and cork ball. Our cork ball pop ups are made exactly to match our freezer baits. The only difference being the addition of egg albumin to harden them. They can be pierced for short sessions though i really we would recommend tying them on with dental floss. This way they
will stay on the hair for 4-5 days. A little
tip here, after you have tied your pop up
on to your rig immerse if in lake water for
a few minutes. This causes the pop up to swell a little and really grip the floss.
The airball ones can be pierced. They contain all of the liquids and extracts that our freezer baits contain. Try glugging them up in the pot with our matching bait dips for extra attraction.
AIR DRYING
We are often asked for advice on air drying bait. People seem to struggle with this area so here are a few tips on how to air dry bait correctly.
If you fish long sessions or holidays in this country or abroad one of the problems that can be encountered is keeping bait fresh. Bait can be prevented from going off by the correct use of air drying. What we are trying to achieve here is gentle drying of the bait by dehydration. In effect we are driving the moisture from the bait as this is the cause of bait going off. There are a few ways of achieving this. One is to plan in advance (always a good idea for anything to do with carp fishing!!) and dry your baits before you depart for your session. To do this simply obtain some of the cardboard salad trays available free from any large supermarket, put 4-5 kilos of boilies in each tray, keep shaking them around each day and in a few days depending on the temperature you should have perfectly dry baits. Transport them in air dry sacks or buckets, NOT PLASTIC BAGS.
You can also take them to the bank frozen and air dry them while you fish in air dry sacks or buckets. This is fine in good weather but a nightmare in the wet!!
Another way to preserve baits on a long session is to semi dry them and then glug them up with a liquid. This could be a specialised bait dip, molasses, csl liquid, lo30, or a light coating in salmon oil. You can also coat baits in salt or better still ask us to add a little salt at the rolling stage. This kind of cures the bait similar to the way a butcher cures meat. It is a short term way of preserving, ideal for what we want.
Practice with a few hundred boilies first to see how you get on. Remember thoroughly air dried bait will be a lot lighter than your normal baits. 10 kilos at the start will give you 9 kilos when they are thoroughly dried. This is why some companies charge you for air drying!
